This new work will take place at the same time as the Stage 4 development nears completion.  It will be the final chapter in a series of upgrades funded by the government.

The landmark $90 million Stage 4 redevelopment, including the new Brownlow Stand, will be ready for action when the Cats take on the Western Bulldogs under lights on May 19.

Having recently hosted international cricket for the first time, Geelong locals have been able to watch the likes of Atletico de Madrid, Melbourne Victory, Super Rugby and Rugby League matches at  the stadium.

These sporting coups and major events strengthen the local economy and give visitors an opportunity to see all the region has to offer.

The government has also ensured that the character of the iconic venue is not compromised, by establishing the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust.
