Welcome
Sport and recreation is firmly embedded in our culture, with research showing that the majority of Victorians either directly participate in or support some form of activity. Sport and Recreation Victoria maximises both the community value of physical activity and the considerable value of the sport and recreation sector to the Victorian economy.
Working with Children Check
The Working with Children (WWC) Check was introduced in 2006 by the Victorian Government to help protect children under 18 years of age from physical or sexual harm by preventing those who pose a risk to their safety from working with them. The Check enforces a mandatory minimum checking standard for people who work with children in either a paid or volunteer capacity.
The Working with Children Check is managed by the Department of Justice and will be phased in over two years for the sport sector.
