Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Dividend Initiatives
Some $26 million of budget savings from the Commonwealth Games is now being ploughed back into Victorian sport and has been committed across three program areas:
- $6.8 million will be invested into sport development;
- $5.85 million will support community programs; and
- $13.25 million will help develop community facilities.
Some of the key initiatives are:
- Athletics Moving Forward (Athletics Victoria)
- Project Beijing
- Supporting Grassroots Sport
- ‘Our Club, Our Future’, Sporting Uniform Grants Program
- New School, Community Sporting Facilities and Play Spaces for Health
