In addition to its regular Active State magazine, Sport and Recreation Victoria produces publications on a variety of topics including facilities, planning, user friendly sport and injury prevention. Publications produced by other organisations on a range of sport and recreation related topics are also available.

Sport and Recreation Victoria undertakes research to improve knowledge about sport and recreation participation and commercial aspects of the sport and recreation sector.
