under-represented in physical activity participation. The grants aim to:
  • help community organisations to run participation programs for selected groups in the community
  • provide increased opportunities for involvement in physical activity in local communities
  • bring Victorians together in their communities

Grants of up to $30,000 per year for up to two years (maximum grant $60,000) were available to not-for-profit community organisations and local government authorities.

A total of 59 projects have received funding to undertake physical activity projects as part of the two phase Physical Activity grants program. Find out more about the Phase One of the Physical Activity grants program (Word 42.5kb) and Phase Two recipients (Word 77kb).

The program has been developed to increase walking participation in local areas.

Funding was given to 17 Primary Care Partnerships (PCPs) to undertake community walking projects as part of Phase 1 of the Community Walking Grants program (Word 45.5kb) together with a further fourteen PCP's as part of Phase 2 (PDF 759kb) of the Community Walking Grants program

The Community Walking grants program was open to organisations working together through Primary Care Partnerships. Incorporated organisations wanting to undertake walking projects were encouraged to contact their local Primary Care Partnership and contribute to its Expression of Interest.
