More than 650 players from the two clubs use the pavilion, including a growing number of women and girls. The park also hosts junior cricket programs and Auskick.
The upgraded pavilion will feature female friendly change rooms for players and umpires and all change facilities and public amenities will be upgraded to be fully accessible.
The increased flexibility and capacity will enable both clubs to grow their membership and host more competitions.
The funding is part of the Victorian Government’s strong commitment to sports and active recreation and to encouraging all Victorians to get out there and get active.
Across Victoria we've invested more than $420 million in community sport and recreation facilities, and earlier this year provided almost half a billion dollars in the Victorian Budget 2018/19 to support sport and active recreation at all levels.
Project partners include Kingston City Council and AFL Victoria.
